The didn't limit us to color but since it's so close to July 4th, I chose RED, WHITE, and BLUE! I used papers from my stash. My SU Keynote die and my divine swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder... reminds me of the wind!!!
The 4 layers of papers are cut out with a MS edge punch... sorry I don't remember the name... the windy house mouse was colored with my copic markers.

Food Glorious Food Betty Bee's Buzz June 22, 2011

Monday at Betty Bee's Buzz our Queen Bee Betty did the motivational on Food Glorious Food.

My version for the Honey bee Showcase is as follows:

This is an ABC recipe 6x6 swap I was in over at Cricut Web site. You sign up for a letter A-Z plus front and back covers. Then you do 28 identical sheets for the letter you chose. This particular swap asked also for a picture as well as the recipe. Judy Ford
You send your 28 pages to the hostess who seperates them and puts them all together and sends the completed book back to you! Yummy, tried and true recipes from all over are now at your house!!! Slide them into page covers put in an album or fasten with rings or ribbons or whatever makes it into your own book!!! The recipe is hard to read so I'll retype it here:
Orange Creamsickle Salad
1 pkg sm orange jello ( I used sugar free)
1 pkg sm instant vanilla pudding (also sugar free)
8 oz tub Cool Whip (I used lite)
1 20oz can Mandarin oranges

Dissolve jello in 1 cup hot water and cool.
Mix pudding with 2 C cold milk.
Thaw Cool whip and drain mandarin oranges.
When jello is fairly cool, combine all ingredients and stir.
Refrigerate until firm or ready to serve.

These pretzelflies are going to be consumed by mother's sunday school class

at their weekly luncheon.

Regular size cupcakes - wings are mini pretzels - body is size star 32 piped bodies with mini choc chip eyes! Yummy!!! a Happy little pretzelfly closeup!

Another favorite is called Tropical Angel Lush Cake
Sugar Free angel food cake
8 oz lite cool whip
lg sugar free vanilla instant pudding
lg can crushed pineapple in it's own juice
lg can mandarin oranges
coconut flakes
marchino cherries

Cut the angel food cake into thirds. Mix the thawed cool whip, pudding powder and crushed pineapple with juice together. Place 1/3 of the mix on the bottom layer. place some of the drained mandarin oranges over the mix and sprinkle some of the coconut. add the middle layer of cake and the second third of the mix. place some of the drained mandarin oranges and coconut as before. Add the top layer of cake. Add the remain mix mandarin oranges, coconut and marchino cherries. Refrigerate until firm or until ready to serve. Light, yummy and fairly low calorie treat!!! Pretty too!!!

Now that you're drooling go over to Betty Bee's Buzz and see what the other honeybees have come up with for Food Glorious Food!!! then let us know what is your favorite!!!

weight loss pictures!!!!

This is where my story starts. These pictures were shortly after my gastric bypass in Nov 2009. At that time I was 344# (that's the highest I'll admit to...) size 32W/5X clothes. Now it's June 2011. These are the same top and shorts as before!!! I've LOST 180 POUNDS!!!
I'm now 164# and size 12 or less depending on the designer! Most people don't even recognize me until I say "HI!!! it's Judy!!!"

I did have an abdominalplasty 5 weeks ago.

It's hard to believe these are the same shorts... If I wiggled they'd be on the ground!!!

I wouldn't have had such good results without my dear husband Donald. He's cooked for me, exercised with me and supported me thru the whole thing. He's even lost 90 pounds! and he is in a smaller waist size than when we graduated from High school!!!

I don't remember size 12.... it's been a very, very long time! But worth the struggle!

Stamptacular sunday Challenge #115 Dads or Grads June 2011

This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #115 Dads or Grads. This is my version of this Challenge. The stamp is from Betty Brett - she gave me several images to practice on when I took her copics class. All the papers are from my stash and the crown and medal are from a Twinchie swap I was in.Judy FordI used a sketch from Jingle Belles Rock by Kirsty for this week's challenge there. I flipped it over for my Dad Card so the ants would be right side up... I used it right side up for my version of Oh Christmas Sketch, Oh Christmas Sketch at Jingle Belles Rock.
All papers are from my stash. I used my MS loopy punch round the corner for the edging. I popped up the gingerbread paper and the candy twinchie! Now that you've seen mine go to the other blogs and check out what other papercrafters did for their version of the challenge.

Betty Bee's Buzz Honey Bee showcase Pinwheels June 2011

Every Wednesday at Betty Bee's Buzz is Honey Bee Showcase. This is when the Honey Bees are given the opportunity to do their version of the Monday Motivational. This week was PINWHEELS!!! oooooooo summmer and running with a pinwheel in your hand or sticking it out the window in the car to see the colors whirl and whirl.... sigh such great memories....

Here is my version of pinwheels for a card... I went back to my quilting roots and dug into my old patterns and books. This quilting pattern is called PINWHEELS.

This card is custom cut to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4in.

I used the bee stamp from Nature Walk set by Stampin UP. I randomly stamped bees over two different colored background sheets of cardstock. Then I used my 1 1/4" square punch and punched out 8 squares of each color. (You could use your papercutter and make the squares any size you wanted for your project....) then I cut point to point across the squares to make triangles. These I reassembled in the pinwheel pattern on a square background piece. I later trimmed this square to be even...

I added a Betty Bee Bow Maker BEEutiful Bow. Some stick pins I made out of shrinky dink material. I little splash of glitter on the stick pin wings and tada.... Just BEE Cuz Card is done!!!

let me know what you think and go check out Betty Bee's Buzz for the other Honeybees versions of the Monday Motivational.... then link up with your pinwheel project and let's see your pinwheel!!!

Challenges Jingle Belles and Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

there are two challenges that I enjoy doing each week. Jingle Belles Rock and Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. Here are my versions of the challenges for this week.

JudyFord This is the card i did for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge. Every week you do a Christmas Card so there won't be the rush during holiday time.

This week is Let it SEW! Let it SEW! Let it SEW!

Yes their sense of humor is just like mine!!
We Were challenged to do a Christmas Card with some sewing on it! I used some crochet cotton with metallic silver in it to do the Sew Snow? and the big flake. the inchies were from a swap a long, long ago... the drippy goo punch makes the silver metallic cardstock look like it's melting. Inside is going to say....... NNNNOOOOO!!!! Only in FLORIDA!!!....

I'm going to send it to one of our friends who lives year round in the sunshine state!

This card is for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #114 - Color challenge - to use Black, Hot Pink, Tan, White only on your card. Everything is from my stash.

My Martha Stewart Punch Round the corner loopy punch dressed this up to match the ribbon.

check out these two sites for all the other papercrafters versions of these challenges.

Betty Bee's Buzz Monday Motivational Chevrons June 6, 2011

Betty Bee's Buzz Monday Motivational is CHEVRONS. By definition a chevron is an inverted V shaped pattern. Chevrons date back as far as Ancient History in early art forms including designs on pottery and rock carvings. Ssssoooo I went to check out my paper stock. Much to my surprise, and even more to my husband's SHOCK, I didn't find one zig zag paper in the whole bunch! Judy Ford

So i thought what would Queen Betty do.... since dh said no to retail therapy...

so I thought outside the box - square - angles - and .....tada

squares cut on an angle would be V shapes - Arrow heads are V shape!!!

so using my paper trimmer I cut the black and white square paper from point to point. This even square shape was easier to see the chevrons than on the uneven square paper.

I did find some metallic silver cardstock in my stash for the background
I used a Thrinchie that I made for a swap at the Cricut board

and wha la...... a Chevron card is born.

this next card I made for my son-in-law Joseph Poling. He is married to my oldest daughter Jennifer and is Dad to my two grandsons Brock and Jackson.

I tease him unmercifully about all the hats he owns. it's like a buzzillion, ok maybe 1/2 that...

BUT he is a good DAD and wears lots of hats in his family

Dad, Husband, Son, bowler, golfer, race enthusiast... just to name a few...

The inside of the card reads:

Happy Father's Day

to a great Dad

that wears many hats....

Now you give it a try.... check out your paper stash... or think outside the box...

rick rack??? flying geese quilt pattern??? something else????

Link up with Betty Bee's Buzz and show us your chevrons.

Wednesday will be the Honeybee showcase to see what the

rest of the hive comes up with for their projects.

Geometry never was so much fun!

Thanks!!!

Honey Bee Showcase Corregated Cardboard June 1, 2011

Every Wednesday is Honeybee showcase over at Betty Bee's Buzz. The Honeybees do their version of the Monday Motivational. This week Honey Bee June Houck did a tutorial on corregated cardboard.

Honey bee June told us she has better results using a Sizzix Die cut rather than our Cricut Expression machines when using corregated cardboard. I have 3 die cuts in my aresenal. 2 sizzix and 1 stampin up I tried all 3. Our Queen Bee Betty said you can just tear into an old box. Wow what great therapy that is to rip into it!!! and I love the results!!! this is my stampin up lattice die cut. I even used the negative cut out for leaves for my blingy flowers. I thought it looked like a stained glass window. I submitted it for the Challenge over at

Jingle Belles Rock for using at least 3 patterned papers in a Christmas card.

This one is my sizzix Tree, Christmas #2. I thought it turned out very rustic and tree like... recycling... I used martha stewart christmas paper for the background and two sparkly papers from my stash for the snow hills... Snowflake and bling from my stash and pearls from a garage sale find!!!This is with my sizzix Frame with scallops that I won as a door prize from one of Betty Bee's Swarm in Florida. The papers and the bling are from my stash. The angel is cut from Paper Dolls with my Expression.

The snow girl and board are from Paper Dolls and the snowflakes were from my stash I found at a garage sale too!!!

So go check out Betty Bee's Buzz and see how the other Honeybees did with their version of the corregated cardstock! Then you try some and link up and show us your work too!!! have fun!!!
