Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #122 Friends are Heaven Sent

this is my card for Stamptacular Sunday challenge #122 -

Friends are Heaven Sent! I am blessed to have a lot of good friends.

However, this card is for my best friend, my husband Donald.

We've been married 39 years this fall.

I had surgery in May that recovery has been slow.

He has willingly taken over most of my chores...

taking care of me, taking care of my 99 year old mom who lives with us,

helping out his mother, our daughters and grandsons, doing dishes, laundry etc.

He is a wonderful man with a heart of gold that I don't thank near enough!!!

Thanks for this challenge to help me realize

how very blessed I am!!!!

Any way... check out what the other papercrafters did for their heavenly friends

City Crafter Challenge #67 July 2011

Welcome to my blog!

Judy FordI am having so much fun finding all sorts of card challenges!

Today's card is for the challenge at

Vintage Garden

I thought of this stamp immediately!

I was fortunate to find it at a

Betty Brett Swarm - Stash Sale

Also thanks to Betty Bee's copics classes I have the confidence to tackle such a large stamp.

Tip: when stamping these big stamps put your paper on a foam sheet or stack of cardstock. The extra cushion helps to get a clean all over stamp! Another tip from Betty is to use Georgia Pacific cardstock. Nice and smooth for good images!

I used an exactknife to cut the lady away from the background.

My original plan was to just mount her on black cardstock

and use my scissors to do a shadow cut around...

then I thought vintage and went into my quilting stash

and found this pretty lace piece.

I'm pleased with the way she turned out!

Thanks for looking!

Check out City Crafter and see what the other papercrafter did for their version

of the challenge #67!

I need some other challenges that start on Monday, Thursday and Saturday

let me know if you have one!!!

Christmas in July - Tag window snowflake - 2011

hello welcome to my blog! Today I'd like to share with you a technique I learned from Laurie Krauss - Stampin Up Consult who rocks!!!

Her version used the SU lg and small labels to make the tag windows.

I used my provocraft cricut expression cartridge Tags Bags and More set at 2 1/4".You need 8 tag windows for each snowflake.

I used winter woodland and joys of the season cartridges

for the inside snowflakes.

I cut vellum into 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 rectangles

I folded a cross into the center of the vellum piece to line up the windows.

The tag windows will extend beyond the vellum

I used some snail adhesive on the tag top to adhere to the vellum.

First layer to form a crossnext layers at angles to the firstthen flip it over and snail glue the pointscut out the points of the snowflake

with the tag bags and more labels you get an inner snowflake

Here I put the two snowflakes on to the tag snowflake with a sparkly brad and my hole puncher.

For the background I used my Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.

A little sparkly ribbon and wha la!!!!thanks for looking

let me know what you think!

Heavy Metal July 13, 2011

Every Wednesday at Betty Bee's Buzz is Honeybee Showcase.

This week Queen Bee Betty showed us Heavy metal embossing...

Here is my version in a card.I used aluminum foil adhered to cardstock and put thru my cuttlebug embossing folder.

I call this card "parts left over???"Judy Ford

This happens quite a bit with projects at the Ford Household.

Here is my stab at embossing metal tape from the hardware store...great impressions but I think I squished it too hard in my cuttlebug cuz

some of the goo squished out and onto my embossing folder A little goo b gone and it's good as new!

Special hint: DO NOT USE this heavy tape with your Martha Stewart Butterfly punch

Oh my goodness what a mess!!!

but fortunately more goo b gone, ruler and cricut pik and it's good as new!

Check out Betty Bee's Buzz and see what all is going on over there!!!

Thanks for looking!
